ABTA Relaunches ABTASure
27/11/2006
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA)
is re-launching ABTASure, its own travel insurance scheme, in association
with Citybond Suretravel (a division of Citybond Holdings Plc).
Insuring passengers up to 85 years of age, ABTASure will be available
exclusively from ABTA members from 1st January 2007. The scheme
includes a comprehensive range of benefits, on-line medical screening
and passenger protection covering up to £5,000 following the failure
of a principal supplier of travel and accommodation arrangements.
Mike Monk, ABTA's financial director commented:
"ABTASure was a major travel insurance scheme in the late 1970's
and, in the light of the ever-changing world we live in when travellers
must ensure they travel with insurance cover, the product has been
revived. Citybond Suretravel, is a reputable travel insurance provider
that has designed a policy to give protection to many types of travellers
at a competitive price. I have little doubt that ABTASure will have
the full support of our members."
Mansukh Ganatra, Citybond s managing director says:
"Working with ABTA we have produced a travel insurance scheme, underwritten
by Europ Assistance, that is all encompassing for today s traveller.
We have listened to what ABTA had to say with regard to the needs
of today s travel market and created ABTASure."
